Emirates Nature-WWF, in collaboration with EAD and HSBC, took part in the first ever Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Climate Week, part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s regional meetings. A successful side event was hosted to explore how the regional financial sector could play a decisive role in driving change by shifting financial flows at scale to nature-positive outcomes. This week offered a true opportunity for the Gulf’s finance sector to be at the front and center of the collective response to climate change, and represented one of the first opportunities to advance collectively the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the Glasgow Climate Pact.

An opinion piece on the largest UAE business-oriented online explaining what NbS were and calling for the UAE finance community to step up and get involved. This piece was later published on the WWF International’s Medium, spreading the word to the whole WWF internal network at large.
